A Conversation with Helen Clark

Hosted by Gary Mason

Join us for the opportunity to hear from Helen Clark, former Prime Minister of New Zealand, about her country’s experience in moving to a proportional voting system. We are proud to be partnering with Leadnow to host this exciting event.

An opponent of PR prior to the electoral reform referendum in New Zealand in the early 1990s, Clark later went on to lead successive stable coalition governments under PR and demonstrated to voters how the system could be made to work. Award-winning journalist Gary Mason will host a conversation with Ms. Clark about her experience and what British Columbians should be thinking about as we prepare for our own referendum vote on PR this fall.

Tickets are pay-what-you-can for youth, seniors, and the underwaged. If the ticket prices listed below are a barrier, please email [email protected] to register.

Please note that registration begins at 6:30pm and the event runs from 7-8:30pm. There will be a reception to follow.

Tickets have now been sold out, but you can tune in to the livestream on our Facebook page from anywhere in the country. You can also join in on the discussion by tweeting us @broadbent and using the hashtags #BCpoli, #pr4bc, and #prorep.
