Michelle Beveridge, Director

Michelle Beveridge, based in Saskatoon, is a communications and campaign consultant for a variety of groups, including the Sustainability and Education Policy Network based at University of Saskatchewan; Oxfam International; the business arm of the Lac La Indian Ronge Band, Kitsaki Management; and Saskatoon City Councillor Charlie Clark.

Michelle spent the first two years of her life in a small village in the Democratic Republic of Congo before moving to Saskatchewan and becoming a Prairie girl, building the base for much of her work that makes the links between global and local issues. A journalist by trade, Michelle moved into the advocacy and campaigns side of communications as a way to fulfil her commitment to social activism, including spending 14 years as Oxfam Canada’s public engagement coordinator for the Prairies.

After she had her two children, Michelle decided to return to school to write a Master’s thesis on the life stories and political work of Indigenous women leaders in Saskatchewan and Guatemala. Michelle is a past board member of Briarpatch Magazine, Core Neighbourhood Youth Co-op, and Affinity Credit Union.
