Monika Dutt

Monika is a Medical Officer of Health in Newfoundland and Labrador and a family physician at the Ally Centre of Cape Breton.

Monika is a Medical Officer of Health in Newfoundland and Labrador and a family physician at the Ally Centre of Cape Breton. She holds a Master of Public Health and Master of Business Administration from Johns Hopkins University. Monika recently completed her Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from the University of British Columbia. She is the past Chair of Canadian Doctors for Medicare and a former Medical Officer of Health in Nova Scotia and Saskatchewan. 

Monika has worked as a public health and family physician in Northern Canada and Toronto, as well as in India. Her policy area interests include health care, income inequality, poverty, and climate change. She lives in Cape Breton with her son.

Monika est aussi la présidente sortante du conseil d’administration des Médecins canadiens pour Medicare et l’ancienne administratrice de la santé publique pour la Nouvelle-Écosse et la Saskatchewan. Elle œuvre en santé publique et en médecine familiale dans le Nord canadien, à Toronto et en Inde.

En politique, elle s’intéresse à la santé publique, l’inégalité des revenus, la pauvreté et les changements climatiques

Elle habite au Cape Breton avec son fils âgé de six ans.
