Hahrie Han on Social Movements

Director and professor Hahrie Han shares her expertise on social movements. In her expert comments, Han talks about the hallmarks of powerful movements, the importance of involving the affected communities in the strategy of the movement, why technology isn’t a silver bullet, why it’s important to stay accountable to the people movements are grounded in and the challenges of working in solidarity (and how to address them).

Han is the director of the SNH Agora Institute, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation professor of political science, and faculty director of the P3 research lab at Johns Hopkins University.
