Jodie Tonita is co-founder and Director of the Social Transformation Project (STP), an organization that works in a systemic way to shift the leadership culture and practice of the progressive movement by providing methodology and direct service that both challenges and supports leaders to innovate, disrupt conventional definitions and divides and generate new possibilities and alliances.

Jodie has a 12-year career working with senior leaders, consultants and intermediaries to maximize the power and effectiveness of progressive movements. Before founding the STP, Jodie co-lead the evolution of Web of Change , a prominent conference and community that connects the foremost thinkers and do-ers in social media, technology, and social change. Jodie served as Program Manager for Groundwire, a nonprofit dedicated to the creative and strategic use of technology for scaling social change. While at Groundwire Jodie helped found Organizing for Change and Conservation Voters of BC, two collaborative efforts designed to win critical environmental policy fights.

In the decade prior, Jodie ran her own management consulting firm working with corporate clients on their large-scale information technology and change management projects. During these years she served on the board of the Surrey Women’s Center and was a dedicated volunteer with Oxfam Canada. Jodie currently serves on the board of , a group that organizes in communities across Canada to build an open democracy, create a fair economy and help ensure a safe climate for all generations.
